Dadra & Nagar Haveli
(DNH) was liberalised from the Portuguese rule on August 2, 1954. (DNH) is near the west coast surrounded by Gujarat
in the North and Maharashtra in the South. The tax benefits offered by the DNH administration has been
instrumental in developing a sound industrial base.

According to the 24th Quarterly Survey of Projects Investments
as of 30 September 2006 conducted by ProjectsToday, the Union Territory had 26 projects worth
Rs.859
crore in various stages of planning and implementation.
Almost the entire investment was by the private sector,
baring the 3 projects of the public sector.
The latest project implementation ratio for the state
stood at 40.6 per cent, a few points lower against the national average of
44.0 per cent.
