Delhi, the Union Capital, is one of the most densely populated cities in
India. Delhi Metropolitan region is comprises of the National Capital
Territory and the neighbouring satellite towns of Faridabad and
Gurgaon in Haryana, and Noida and Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh making
it the sixth most populous agglomeration in the world.
Delhi is the
economic capital of the Northern India. The city is marked by
service sector dominance with key industries like IT,
Telecommunications, hotels, banking, media, tourism, and life science.
This followed by the manufacturing industry that has marked
considerable growth.
Projects Investment in Delhi
According to the
24th Quarterly Survey of Projects Investment conducted by
Projects Today, as of 30 September 2006, there were 336 projects in Delhi, worth
Rs.34,505 crore in various stages of planning and implementation.
On a YOY basis
the investment slumped down 19.7 per cent, however the state
maintained an implementation ratio of 44.8 per cent almost equal to
the national average of 44.0 per cent.
