Rajasthan is the largest state in term of
area in the country and eight most
populous. The land of the of Raja's and Maharaja's attracts a lot of foreign
tourist every year.
The State is
the largest producer of cement and third largest producer of salt in
the country. The state has abundant in mineral wealth and holds a
share of about 24 per cent of India's total production of
non-metallic minerals. It contributes around 90 per cent of the
national output of rock phosphate, 100 per cent of the output of
natural gypsum and 10 per cent of the output of limestone.
Projects Investment
According to the 24th Quarterly Survey of Projects Investment
conducted by ProjectsToday, as of 30 September 2006, the desert state had 503 projects worth
Rs.36,669
crore in various stages of planning and implementation.
The state
ranked 18 overall, in terms of project investments and the project implementation ratio observed for the state
was an impressive 76.9 per
cent, way higher than the national average of 44.0 per cent.
