STATE-OF-THE-ART FACILITIES
In the high-tech, high-speed world of information technology, what does it take to be among the telecommunication industry's great innovators and producers?
The answer is simple: great manufacturing capabilities.
With a history that stretches back over 100 years, Siemon continually earns its world-class reputation for producing highquality products. Siemon re-invests in research and development, new equipment and forward-evolving capabilities. This extraordinary commitment is evident in Siemon's state of the art facilities, precision processes and dedicated staff.
Great design is critical : Siemon engineers study the industry, delving deeply into customer needs, both for today and tomorrow. They then utilize advanced tools such as solid modeling (Pro/E), rapid prototyping (SLA), and finite element analysis, to realize products that meet out customers' forward looking needs.
Siemon Labs : Staffed with electrical, mechanical and optical test engineers and state of the art equipment, Siemon Labs is the R&D hub dedicated to the development of cutting edge innovation. In addition to its primary R&D function, Siemon Labs is responsible for developing and utilizing advanced test methods to verify and validate product performance, thus ensuring the long-standing Siemon goal of exceeding both performance standards and customer expectations.
Making quality automatic : Much of our facility's state of the art equipment is designed and built by Siemon automation engineers who pride themselves on the quality and efficiency of their work. By continually developing new methods, processes and procedures, quality levels and capacities rise while defects are eliminated.
We get our product components from a very reliable source — ourselves : When Siemon engineers design a new product, they do so knowing that the individual components are manufactured to the most exacting standards. Precision in-house capabilities include metal stamping, metal forming, and plastic injection molding.
To make a great end product, start at the beginning : At Siemon, we ensure our product quality by selecting top grade raw materials. For both plastic and metal components, Siemon specifies all materials and manages the entire manufacturing process. This degree of control provides a level of quality assurance that is impossible without Siemon's total process integration.
Putting it all together : Siemon products are manufactured and assembled on the same campus, with the assembly plant mere yards from the sub-component manufacturing facility. Siemon engineers and manufacturing experts work closely with assembly teams to ensure that quality and reliability are fully integrated into each product.
The watchful eye of quality control : At each step of the manufacturing process – from inspection of raw materials to the testing of assembled products – Siemon is committed to quality. For high volume production, Siemon employs cutting-edge quality control technology, such as vision systems, to ensure the highest product quality and reliability.
At the heart of it all : Customer service is the first point of contact for many customers. Physically and strategically located at the center of the Siemon organization, this crucial link to distributors, installers and endusers is now able to work closely with manufacturing, production planning and shipping to fill orders quickly and efficiently.
From here to the rest of the world : Our workflow-optimized manufacturing facility is the logistical heart of the company, the worldwide launching pad for Siemon products. Through cross-functional brainstorming, time and labor saving features were incorporated into the design of the Siemon facilities to heighten efficiency. Over 1 million connections are shipped daily from this location.
VALUE-ADDED PROGRAMS
The Certified Installer™ (CI®) Program was created to provide the end user with an installed cabling system that exceeds the requirements of ANSI and ISO standards. To achieve this goal, Siemon maintains business alliances with telecommunications professionals who are committed to continually improving their knowledge, job skills, customer service, and quality of workmanship. Siemon supports this network of Certified Installers with on-going educational and marketing programs. When the Siemon Cabling System® is installed by a Siemon Certified Installer, end user benefits include:
A 16 or 20-year warranty on applications including parts and labor coverage on cable and connecting hardware.
Compliant to or exceeding the Industry Standards that govern the design, installation, and administration of telecommunications cabling, ensuring that the cabling infrastructure will support all voice, data, and imaging applications, both current and future.
- ANSI/TIA/EIA-568-B.1, B.2, ‘569-A, ‘606, and ‘607;
- CENELEC EN 50173-2002;
- AS/NZS 3080:2000;
- CSA T529-95;
- JIS X5150;
- ISO/IEC 11801:2002 Ed 2.0
Global network of Certified Installers supporting multi-site and multi-national end users.
Certified Installer (CI) Training Warranted Siemon Cabling Systems may only be designed/installed by telecommunications professionals who have successfully completed Siemon's intensive training program. Siemon requires that a minimum of one designer and one installation supervisor be trained in order for their company to gain and maintain Certified Installer status.
Certified Installer™ Audit Program. Siemon maintains and exercises the right to audit Certified Installer procedures and documentation and to audit certified installations at any time to ensure compliance with the Siemon Cabling System training manual.
100% link and channel testing, fully documented, and available to the end user upon request.
An open cabling system, supporting select leading cable manufacturers.

SYSTEM SOLUTIONS
10G 6 ™ is the augmented category 6 component of Siemon's 10G ip™ Solution. 10G 6 is the world's most advanced UTP and screened cabling system, specifically engineered to handle the increasing performance demands of emerging and converging applications like voice over IP, IP video and building automation systems. 10G 6 provides superior performance beyond the category 6 standard and channel performance to at least 500 MHz with future applications assurance for 10GBASE-T over a 4 connector, 100 meter channel System 6® represents exceptional value, with margin on all parameters beyond category 6 and Power Sum ACR to 250MHz. Siemon is proud to be the first manufacturer to provide true category 6 performance for connecting hardware — well before the standard was finalized. From the telecommunications room to the work area, all Siemon System 6 products exceed connecting hardware and channel performance specifications set forth for category 6 by the TIA/EIA and ISO/IEC.
LightSystem® and XGLO ™ are complete end-to-end fiber optic solutions for today's requirements and tomorrow's demands. These systems offer the industry's most comprehensive horizontal and backbone fiber cabling solutions available today.
XGLO is part of Siemon's 10G ip high performance cabling system and utilizes laser-optimized fiber for superior transmission performance for applications like 1G and 10G Ethernet.
LightSystem is ideal for companies that do not yet require a 10 gigabit system, but still need a high-performance system that can support gigabit Ethernet applications.
TERA® is another option in Siemon's 10G ip™ solution set and is the first commercially available cabling system to meet category 7/Class F standards. The fully-shielded TERA connector can support simultaneous, multiple applications including voice, high-speed LAN services and broadband video - all over one cable. TERA's compact design and 1-, 2-, and 4-pair modularity enable easy administration of multiple applications over one 4-pair outlet. This increased capacity allows end users to install less cable, limiting expenditures on materials and labor, while providing the most advanced copper system available. In addition to supporting 10 Gb/s, TERA offers the unique ability to provide service up to 1.2 GHz — twice the bandwidth dictated by the current cat 7/class F standard, making TERA the highest performing twisted pair connector in the world. It is also the only non-RJ category 7/class F industry standard connector.
System 5e® provides exceptional value for customers planning and implementing a category 5e cabling infrastructure. System 5e meets all TIA/EIA and ISO/IEC specifications for category 5e channel performance.
Premium 5e® is a superior category 5e solution designed to provide robust applications support, including Gigabit Ethernet. With more margin on all parameters specified by TIA/EIA and ISO/IEC, Premium 5e offers positive Power Sum ACR out to 160MHz.
Siemon's Industrial MAX® is a new breed of connector designed to deliver a robust IP66/67 rated category 5e, 6 or LC fiber interface. This new RJ-45 interface is commonly referred to as the "Industrial Connector", but its applications are not limited to manufacturing. While the connector is designed to withstand the most punishing industrial conditions, applications exist in any environment subject to moisture, vibration and/or temperature extremes.
