SPV for Kolkata east-west metro

PROJECTSTODAY: A special purpose vehicle called Kolkata Metro Rail Corporation will be formed to implement the east-west metro corridor in the West Bengal capital.

Expressions of interest were invited on May 21, 2008, for general consultancy services for implementing the Rs 4,676-crore metro corridor project that envisages construction of a metro rail corridor of 13.77-km length and spanning 12 stations. Of the total length, around 8 km will be underground and the rest elevated. The metro corridor will start at Howrah and terminate at Salt Lake - with six underground and elevated stations each.
