Shimla water project nearing completion

ProjectsToday: The water supply a project in Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh is scheduled for completion by July. Civil works are nearing completion.

The scheme, estimated to cost Rs 50 crore, involves the laying of a 102-km new pipeline and construction of 11 storage tanks. It also involves lifting of water from Giri river near Theog in two stages. Two more tube wells will be added at Gummah and Ashwini.

One more stage has been added to lift water from Nauti Khad to pump another five Iakh gallons. In all, the Himachal Pradesh government, which is implementing the project, hopes to augment water supply by 10 lakh gallons. At present, about 62 lakh gallons of water is supplied to the city.

Auditorium and club house in Gandhidham

Sindhu Resettlement Corporation will start work on its auditorium cum-clubhouse at Gandhidham.

Kutch district, Gujarat, by September. The company is currently finalising the contractor for the Rs 27- crore project. Zaveri & Zaveri of Mumbai is the architect. The project is scheduled for completion within two years.
