Shirdi Industries Ltd is developing three particle boards units, one each in
Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
A
senior company official told ProjectsToday that the Tamil Nadu unit, coming up
at Gumudipoondi in Tiruvallur district, would cost Rs 35 crore. Machinery
suppliers and con tractors were finalised and bhoomipujan was performed
recently. Work on the project is likely to commence by this month-end. Work on
the 12- acre unit at Navi Mumbal, Thane district, Maharashtra, is under way. The
Karnataka unit has got necessary clearances from the government and work is
expected to commence by December 2008.
