The DPR for the Sindol hydropower project at Deogaon, Sambalpur district,
Orissa, is likely to be ready by October. The project, promoted by Orissa Hydro
Power Corporation Ltd, is coming up on Mahanadi river basin in three phases i.e.
two units of 90 mw each in stage I & II and 120 mw in stage III. Water &
Power Consultancy Services (India) Ltd has prepared the pre-feasibility report
for the 300-mw project and OHPCL is in process of achieving financial closure.
Tender for machinery supplies and civil contract will be floated soon.
