Talwandi Sabo Power Project Developer to be finalised
ProjectsToday: Reliance Energy, Lanco Infratech, Torrent Power, Sterlite Industries, Jindal Steel & Power, Larsen & Toubro, CLP Construction, SR Power and GVK Power are among the 10 companies shortlisted by Talwandi Sabo Power for setting up its power project.
The company, a subsidiary of Punjab State Electricity Board, proposes to set up a 2,000-mw coal-based thermal power unit on build-own-operate basis at Taiwandi Sabo in Mansa district. The qualified bidder is likely to be finalised by the middle of this month. Pre-qualification bids were invited last July and the project contract is likely to be awarded by June this year. Speaking to ProjectsToday, company officials informed that land acquisition process was likely to be completed by March. The ministry of environment and forests is expected to clear the project by June 2008.
