Chennai Corridor Project US-based Wilbur Smith Associates has submitted the inspection report on the first stage of the proposed high-speed transportation corridor in Chennai. The Adyar Poonga Trust has appointed WSA as consultant for the project.
Tamil Nadu Urban Infrastructure Financial Services, managers for Adyar Poonga Trust, is planning to develop transportation corridors along major rivers across Chennai.
The Chennai corridor project comprises alignments from the Light House-Theosophical Society (3.3 km), Adyar Theosophical Society-Ramapuram (11.8 km), Mount Poonamallee Elevated Corridor-Ramapuram to Porur (4 km), Chennai Bypass from Maduravoyal to Manali (42 km), North Buckingham Canal to IT corridor (17.5 km), South Buckingham Canal to IT corridor (10.7 km), elevated corridor along Coonam/NH-Maduravoyal to Port (18.5 km), Mambalam Canal route up to Adyar (5.6 km), and Adyar river to Coonam river (6.6 km).
