NMPT to finalise entity for bunker
ProjectsToday: The Mangalore Port Trust is likely to finalise the entity for implementing bunkering facilities at the port by June this year. According to sources in the port trust, around four entities - Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd, Mangalore Refinery Petroleum Ltd and Indian Oil Corporation Ltd - have been shorthsted. The bunker will be implemented on ‘land management’ basis instead of BOT basis.
The scope of work includes construction of storage facilities for bunkering oil, laying of pipeline to all the berths in the oil dock arm, metering arrangements, and supply of bunker through barges of requisite capacity for ships at other berths and offshore locations. Meanwhile, NMPT has appointed Consulting Engineer- ing Services to prepare the detailed engineering report for its proposed liquid cargo jetty (Berth No.13). Tenders for civilworks are likely to be floated by June.
