Alstom India has bagged a 100 million euro (approx Rs 842.3 crore) contract to supply equipment for the 850 MW Ratle hydropower plant in Jammu and Kashmir.
The order has been received from GVK Power & Infrastructure. The contract includes the supply of four Francis turbines of 205 MW each, and one Francis turbine of 30 MW.
Alstom will manufacture all equipment at its Vadodara facility in Gujarat.
Ratle is currently the largest power project being set up near the Chenab River at Kishtwar district of the state. The project is expected to be commissioned in 2017.
