Creambell, an ice cream brand in India, is planning to set up a new plant in the eastern region of the country.
The new plant is expected to be completed in 12-18 months. Creambell is also expanding the capacity of the Kosi plant in Uttar Pradesh by 25 per cent. The company plans to foray into Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and Kerala in the next two or three years.
At present, the company has three production facilities - in Baddi, in Himachal Pradesh, and in Kosi near Agra - which cater to demand in the northern region. Besides, it also has an ice cream plant in Goa which caters to the southern and western regions.
Creambell has earmarked an investment of Rs 275 crore between 2010 and 2015 for capacity expansion and research and development.
