Dighi Port, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Balaji Infra Projects, plans to
commission its first berth in Raigad district of Maharashtra by end-2010.
The berth has a 300 mtrs quay length and will be capable of handling cargo
between 1,000 to 2,000 tph.
The company is likely to develop another four berths, which are expected to
raise its cargo handling capacity from 1.8 to 30 million tpa by the end of 2012.
The entire project is estimated to cost around Rs 1,650 crore.
