Essar Projects (EPL), an EPC company of Essar group, along with GR Engineering, Mumbai, has bagged a contract from Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL), for Kochi refinery expansion project in Kerala.
The contract, worth Rs 550 crore, has been won by Essar Projects in a consortium with GR Engineering for the EPC work of reactor regenerator package of 2.2 million tpa Fluid Catalytic Cracking Unit (FCCU), at the Kochi refinery. Technip Shaw is the process licensor of this package.
The project is scheduled to be completed in 24 months.
BPCL is currently expanding the Kochi refinery capacity to 15.5 million tpa from 9.5 million tpa as part of the Integrated Refinery Expansion Project (IREP).
Engineers India (EIL), is the project management consultant (PMC), for the project.
