Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (HPCL), has finalised Pachpadra location instead of Leelala in Barmar district of Rajasthan for its refinery project.
The Rajasthan Government has approved HPCL's recommendation to shift the location. The proposed refinery will come up over 11,000 bighas area which belongs to the state government and there is no need for any land acquisition. Also, the company has 28,000 bighas government area which can be used for expansion.
The commercial expansion includes getting water, laying roads and pipelines and developing other infrastructure at a cost of Rs 1,300 crore.
The Rajasthan Government has requested NHAI for realignment of NH-112 (Pachpadra-Bagundi-Balotra), which was passing through the project site.
