In a major boost to Krishna district’s development, JK Srivastava & Hynfra (JKSH) has announced a Rs 35,000 crore investment to establish a green hydrogen of 150 KTPA and green ammonia of 600 KTPA project in Machilipatnam.
The project is set to generate approx. 10,000 employment opportunities and will operate entirely on renewable energy, including solar and wind, supported by battery storage and advanced energy management systems. Operations are expected to begin by 2029. A memorandum of uderstanding (MoU) between JKSH and New and Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (NREDCAP) was signed in the presence of Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu.
Originally planned for Visakhapatnam, the project was relocated to Krishna district due to the availability of a substantial government land bank—1,86,367 acres in total, including 1,24,537 acres in the Machilipatnam division. The ongoing development of the Machilipatnam port, now 50 percent complete and slated to begin operations by end-2026, adds strategic value. This project follows earlier proposals from BPCL and CONCOR, further solidifying the region’s status as a rising industrial hub under the TDP-led NDA government.
