KFC, the restaurant chain, plans to open 500 outlets by 2015 in India. The
expansion will be a mix of company owned and franchised restaurants.
The company aims to open the outlets in metros and tier I cities. It plans to
increase presence in Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Orissa, Uttar Pradesh and
Rajasthan.
Presently, KFC has 86 stores in 16 cities and nine more outlets are to be
added by end-2010. These will entail an investment of $9 million (approx Rs 39.6
crore).
