L&T’s Heavy Civil Infrastructure (HCI) vertical has secured a significant order from the Nuclear Power Corporation of India (NPCIL) for the 2x1000 MWe Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project units 5 and 6 in Tamil Nadu.
The contract includes the mechanical package involving installation of the nuclear reactors, turbine systems with generators and condensers, sea water systems, polar and trestle cranes, and related equipment. The scope further covers accessories, piping, supports, structural steelwork, painting, anti-corrosion coatings, insulation, and comprehensive testing across multiple site buildings and structures.
This order highlights L&T’s expertise in handling complex, large-scale nuclear infrastructure projects critical to India’s clean energy initiatives.
