1. Boolean Searches :

i. AND - Shows results where both terms on either side of the 'AND' operator are present. 'AND' must be in upper case. For example search term - delhi AND metro result - It will return records in which 'delhi' as well as 'metro' both are present.

ii. OR - Shows results where either term (or both terms) is present. 'OR' must be in upper case. For example search term - delhi OR metro result - It will return records in which either 'delhi' or 'metro' or both are present

2. Proximity Searches

A proximity search looks for terms that are within a specific distance from one another. For example, search term - 'delhi metro'~10 result - It will search for records where 'delhi' and 'metro' are found within 10 words of each other

3. Phrase searches

You can search phrases using double quotes. for e.g. 'delhi metro' result - It will return records where 'delhi metro' phrase is found.

MMRC completes 50 percent tunneling of Mumbai Metro-3

Mumbai Metro-3 connecting Colaba-Bandra-Seepz has achieved another milestone. The Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) has completed 50 percent of the total tunnelling work in 19 months.

The remaining 28 km of the tunneling will be completed before June 2020. At least 56 km of tunnels will be below the surface for the 33.5 km long Metro rail alignment. The 56 km is both up and down lines on which tracks will be laid. At a few locations, the alignment comes at grade or leads to shafts.

The tunnelling work on the project began in November 2017. The authorities are inspecting the alignment of the tunnel by checking whether TBM has diverted from the actual route.

After launching Krishna-1, the first TBM at Naya Nagar, Mahim in September 2017, the authorities have been working for a breakthroughs with the help of 17 TBMs. The first breakthrough on the alignment was achieved in September 2018 and subsequently 12 more breakthroughs were achieved in the next eight months, until May 2019.

There are 12 launching shafts to facilitate tunnelling at Cuffe Parade, Eros Cinema, Azad Maidan, Science Museum, Siddhivinayak, Naya Nagar, BKC, Vidyanagari, Pali Ground, Sariput Nagar, Sahar Road and International Airport T2 terminal.

The longest tunnel is from Vidyanagari to domestic airport (length-3.9 km) and the shortest one is from Sariput Nagar to SEEPZ (562 mtr). A total of 19,504 segment rings have been used to complete 28 km tunnelling.

The project will cover the following area -- Speez, CSIA T2, Sahar station, MIDC, Domestic Airport T1, Dadar, Worli, Vidyanagari and Vidhan Bhavan. The cost of the project is Rs 30,000 crore.
