Mitsubishi Aluminum Company, through its Indian subsidiary, MA Extrusion India, is planning to set up the first industrial unit in a Japanese cluster at Vithalapur, near Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
The company is likely to lay the foundation stone for the facility in June 2014. It has acquired 4.4 lakh sq ft within the 150 ha zone, to set up a manufacturing unit that will produce auto parts, especially those from aluminium extrusion material.
With an investment of over Rs 100 crore, MA Extrusion is one of the four Japanese mid-level companies that have lined up plans to invest a total of Rs 500 crore, in Phase-I of the development in the Japanese Industrial Estate.
The second company is ROKI Minda Company, which has taken up 3.4 lakh sq ft to set up its automobile ancillary manufacturing plant. The third is Toyota Forms, which has acquired 5.89 lakh sq ft, for manufacturing pre-cast concrete forms (moulds) and machinery for producing pre-cast concrete products. The fourth company is TS Tech Co, which has planned an automobile seats manufacturing unit.
