An early settlement to the final
selection process for the Mumbai and Delhi airport modernisation project seems
elusive. Differences of opinion within the Inter-Ministerial Group (IMG) has
forced the empowered Group of Ministers (eGOM) to set up another committee
headed by the Cabinet Secretary to evaluate the process once again.
Although differences within the IMG
were apparent in recent months, this is the first time that an open admission
has been made.
The new five-member committee would go
through the reports of the Government Review Committee and that of the IMG
before making its final recommendation to the eGOM within the next two weeks.
