1. Boolean Searches :

i. AND - Shows results where both terms on either side of the 'AND' operator are present. 'AND' must be in upper case. For example search term - delhi AND metro result - It will return records in which 'delhi' as well as 'metro' both are present.

ii. OR - Shows results where either term (or both terms) is present. 'OR' must be in upper case. For example search term - delhi OR metro result - It will return records in which either 'delhi' or 'metro' or both are present

2. Proximity Searches

A proximity search looks for terms that are within a specific distance from one another. For example, search term - 'delhi metro'~10 result - It will search for records where 'delhi' and 'metro' are found within 10 words of each other

3. Phrase searches

You can search phrases using double quotes. for e.g. 'delhi metro' result - It will return records where 'delhi metro' phrase is found.

NTPC to set up 5,000 MW ultra-mega solar park in the Kutch

NTPC is planning to set up an ultra-mega solar park of 5,000 MW in the Kutch region of Gujarat. The investment in the Kutch region will of around Rs four crore per MW.

The total project investment will be to the tune of Rs 20,000 crore. It is looking at two to three locations in Kutch. The company will also invite other firms to invest as well.

The company is also looking at Rajasthan for setting up an ultra mega solar park. However, the amount of energy that will be produced and the quantum of investment required will be decided after the location is finalised.

Moreover, the company is also planning to tie-up with municipalities to produce electricity from solid waste.

NTPC has undertaken pilot project in Banaras in Uttar Pradesh that converts bio-waste into electricity since 2018. It is planning to do a similar project with the East Delhi Municipal Corporation to produce 20 MW per day and the tender for the same will be floated.

The company is in more advanced stages of talks with the Surat civic body as it has available land. It is planning to award the contract soon. The company has a similar plan for Ladakh as well.

The company is exploring to purchase of one hydro asset of 100 MW and two coal-based assets of 600 MW each at the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT).
