Union Civil Aviation Minister Suresh Prabhu along with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Minister of State for Civil Aviation Jayant Sinha inaugurated the new domestic terminal building of Gorakhpur Airport in Uttar Pradesh.
The new terminal has been constructed over an area 23,500 sq ft. The project entailed an estimated investment of Rs 22.5 crore.
The complex is equipped with modern amenities and can cater up to 200 peak-hour passengers.
The project is being developed under the Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik (UDAN) Regional Connectivity Scheme.
The minister also inaugurated the 108-bed rest house constructed by CSR funds of the Airports Authority of India (AAI). The rest house will benefit patients/attendants visiting BRD Medical College from neighbouring regions and other states.
