Nicholas Piramal India is
planning to invest Rs.250 crore to expand its diagnostic chain Wellspring in
75 urban centres across the country.
The company is aiming to add another
40 labs with a period of two years to the existing 35 labs in 15 cities across
the country to have at at least 75 such diagnostic centres covering 35 cities.
The labs will be well equipped to
perform over four million pathology tests every year including tests related to
biochemistry, immunology, hematology, histopathalogy and micro-biology. The
company will also focus on strengthening the sample collection process to ensure
samples do not move extensively.
