CESC Green Power, a renewable energy arm of West Bengal-based CESC, has received in-principle approval from Odisha's High-Level Clearance Authority (HLCA) for clean energy projects worth Rs 4,500 crore.
The approval covers a series of initiatives, including a three GW solar cell manufacturing facility, a three GW solar module plant, a five GWh advanced chemistry battery cell pack & solar components, and a 60 MW AC captive power plant in Dhenkanal district. These projects will be developed in three phases, marking a significant step towards CESC's plans to diversify into solar cell and module manufacturing, along with battery storage solutions.
The company is also committed to securing financial closure for the projects and providing full support, including equity infusion and strategic assistance.
