Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the newly built Donyi Polo Airport in Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh, on 19 November 2022.
The airport, spread over 320 ha of land, includes the construction of a terminal building in an area of 4,100 sq mtr. The airport's 2,300 mtr runway allows for all-weather daytime operations.
The Rs 1,055 crore airport project also includes setting up a five-star hotel and a convention centre.
On the same day, the Prime Minister also dedicated the 600 MW Kameng Hydro Power Station to the nation in the West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh. The hydro-power station built at a cost of Rs 8,450 crore will harness the waters of two rivers, Bichom and Tenga.
