Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) Ceramics, the United Arab Emirates-based tile and tableware manufacturer, is planning to invest Rs 300 crore in 2014, in India, in its expansion plan.
As per its expansion plan, the company intends to set up its new plant in Gujarat. It also intends to augment the capacity of its existing plant at Samalkot, Andhra Pradesh. The commercial production at Samalkot, for a sanitaryware line is expected to begin in June 2014. Once the project gets commissioned, the production capacity of the company will go up to 1.2 million pieces per year from the existing four lakh per year.
Besides, RAK is also exploring options to expand its footprint in India through its retail network.
