Reliance Industries, led by Mukesh Ambani, has announced a major investment in Andhra Pradesh, signing a deal with the state government to build a one GW AI data centre.
This facility, set to be one of Asia’s most powerful AI hubs, will operate as a twin to the company's existing gigawatt-scale data centre in Jamnagar. Designed to support advanced AI processors, including graphics processing units (GPUs) and tensor processing units (TPUs), the facility aims to democratise AI access through Reliance’s MyJio platform, benefiting students, farmers, and entrepreneurs.
Alongside this, Reliance will develop a 6 GWp solar power project in the state, ensuring sustainable energy for the AI centre. Additionally, the company is investing in a greenfield integrated food park in Kurnool. Reliance’s continued expansion in Andhra Pradesh includes operations in retail, digital services, and oil & gas, with over USD 25 billion invested to date.
