Coastal Tamil Nadu Power (CTNPL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Power Finance Corporation (PFC), has invited RfQs for development and operation of 4,000 MW Cheyyur Ultra Mega Power Project (UMPP), in Kancheepuram district of Tamil Nadu.
The 4,000 MW Cheyyur UMPP near Cheyyur village is a coastal power project based on imported coal with captive port at Panaiyur, to be developed on DBFOT basis. The beneficiary states are Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh and Punjab.
However, the RfQs for the Orissa project had already been invited last year, but due to non-finalisation of the bidding norms, the process could not be completed.
