On 11 November, 2025, State Minister for Labour Welfare and Skill Development, CV Ganesan, launched the restoration and improvement works for Wellington Lake in Titakudi taluk, Cuddalore district, in Tamil Nadu at an estimated cost of Rs 130 crore.
Speaking at the event, Minister Ganesan highlighted that under Chief Minister MK Stalin’s leadership, projects to restore lakes and irrigation systems are underway to boost groundwater levels and agricultural output. He also mentioned the restoration of lake bunds and improvement of drainage systems following the 2024 floods. The comprehensive restoration will include a parallel embankment and reinforced concrete for the main canal.
The project will benefit 63 villages and ensure irrigation for over 24,000 acres of farmland. Additionally, infrastructure projects, including roads and water facilities, are being carried out in the region to support the welfare of the public and farmers.
