Rudra Global Infra Products, a steel manufacturer previously known as MDICL, has announced plans to set up renewable energy projects totalling 30 MW in Gujarat, primarily for captive consumption. The company is currently working on a 3.3 MW wind energy project with a projected cost of over Rs 32 crore.
As per its exchange filing, "The company has received the Bank Sanction Letter, approving approximately 75 per cent of the funding for the 3.3 MW wind power project." This initiative, scheduled for completion by December 2025, is expected to generate around 1.1 crore units of electricity annually. It will be Rudra Global's fourth operational wind turbine, raising its total renewable energy capacity to eight MW, capable of producing about 1.7 crore units per year.
In addition to wind power, Rudra Global is actively exploring solar and other equivalent renewable energy sources to achieve a combined capacity of 25–30 MW. The company reiterated its commitment to "maximising the use of renewable energy sources" as part of its long-term sustainability strategy. The total estimated cost for all planned projects stands at Rs 32.28 crore.
