SJVN's renewable arm SJVN Green Energy (SGEL) on 27 February, 2024 announced the commissioning of 100 MW Raghanesda solar power project located at Banaskantha district in Gujarat. The project has been bagged at a tariff of Rs 2.64 per unit through competitive tariff bidding.
The power purchase agreement (PPA) has been signed with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam (GUVNL) for 25 years. The cost of development of this project is Rs 642 crore. The project will generate 252.3 million units (MUs) in the first year, and is expected to achieve 5,805 MU of solar power over a period of 25 years.
With this addition, SJVN's installed capacity stands at 2,377 MW. This project marks SJVN's second solar project this month, following the commissioning of 50 MW Gujrai Solar Power Station in Uttar Pradesh.
The commissioning of the company's eleventh power project highlights its dedication to enhance the green energy landscape and solidifies its position as a major player in the energy sector.
