Seven entities have qualified for the opening of price bids for Maharashtra's intrastate transmission system (InSTS) scheme, housed under Velgaon Power Transmission.

The project is being developed under the tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) mechanism, with REC Power Development & Consultancy (RECPDCL) serving as the bid process coordinator. The qualified bidders are Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCIL), Adani Energy Solutions (AESL), Resonia (formerly Sterlite Grid 32), Tata Power Company, KCC Buildcon, Ceigall India, and Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company (MSETCL).

KCC has previously bid for ISTS-TBCB projects like Raghanesda RE Transmission, and Banaskantha Transco, but is yet to secure a win. For PGCIL, which has developed InSTS-TBCB projects in Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, this bid could mark its entry into Maharashtra's intrastate transmission sector.
