The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has given clearance to Ghoshpukur-Gossainpur-Falakata-Salsabari road project in West Bengal.
The project envisages four-laning of Ghoshpukur - Gossainpur - Falakata - Salsabari section from 551.566 km of NH-31, 0.000 km to 147.000 km of NH-31D and 225.000 km to 228.000 km of NH-31C in West Bengal, NHAI is implementing the project under NHDP Phase-II on BOT (Annuity) on DBFOT basis. The project is estimated to cost Rs 3,120 crore including the cost of Rs 907.60 crore towards land acquisition, re-settlement and rehabilitation and other pre-construction activities. The project covers the districts of Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri and Coochbihar in West Bengal.
The stretch will help in uplifting the socio-economic condition of the region, besides increasing employment potential for local labourers.
