Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) has commenced construction work on Unit-I of Stage-II of its coal based power plant at Raghunathpur in Purulia district of West Bengal.
The company is developing Stage-II of the project with an investment of Rs 9,000 crore in the two units. Each unit of Stage-II will have 660 MW capacity.
DVC has commenced civil work for boiler of the Unit-I of 660 MW for Stage-II of the project. It will take two year time for the completion of the unit.
Further, the company had also resumed work for ash pond and water corridor which is needed for the Stage-II of the project.
The company is developing coal based power plant at Raghunathpur in two stages. The Stage-I of the project will have 1200 MW (2x600MW) while, Stage-II of the project will have 1,320 MW (2x660MW) capacity.
Damodar Valley Corporation has almost completed Unit-I of 600 MW for Stage-I of 1200 MW (2x600MW) Raghunathpur project.
