Footwear design centre, namely, National Institute for Footwear Design and Development, to be developed at a cost of Rs 100 crore, will soon be established in Hyderabad.
The foundation stone for the Institute will be laid in the last week of January 2014. The Andhra Pradesh government has already allocated the required land at Gachibowli in Cyberabad.
The Ministry of Commerce has already sanctioned funds for the national centre.
Besides, the ministry for small, micro and medium enterprises (MSME) will also set up a National SME University, which will be developed over 100 acre in Hyderabad.
Also, MSME has advised to complete the process of identifying a partner for setting up of the Rs 35 crore World Trade Centre under PPP mode.
