On 15 January 2014, Naveen Patnaik, Chief Minister of Orissa, inaugurated a unit of Indo Nissin Foods, a subsidiary of Japan based Nissin Foods Holdings, in the state.
The project, with a production capacity of 20,000 tpa, has been set up with an investment of Rs 100 crore at Idco Food Processing Park at Khurda Industrial Estate. The company intends to run the new plant in Orissa with full capacity in next two years and will currently operate the plant at 25 per cent capacity.
At present, the new plant will manufacture the Top Ramen bag noodles and will manufacture the short noodles ‘NISSIN Scoopies’ at the new facility by March 2014.
Apart from this plant, the company's two units are located at Haryana and Karnataka with a production capacity of 10,000 tpa each.
