L&T Construction has secured contracts valued at over Rs 2,542 crore across various business segments in April and May 2013.
The Building & Factories Business bagged an order worth Rs 1,021 crore for the construction of residential towers, a cement plant, and a factory at various locations across India, including additional orders from operating projects.
The company's Heavy Civil Infrastructure Business secured an order worth Rs 866 crore for the Kochi Metro Rail Project. The work includes construction of an elevated viaduct; elevated stations including architectural finishing work of stations; and connecting the viaduct and ramp to the depot on Alwaye-Petta Line of the project.
The Transportation Infrastructure Business bagged an order worth Rs 315 crore from Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India for design and construction of 2x25 kV electrification, signalling, telecommunication and associated works for a double track railway line between New Karwandiya to Durgauti section of the eastern corridor.
Meanwhile, the Water Renewable Energy Business secured EPC orders worth Rs 148 crore from the Public Health Engineering Department, Rajasthan, for a water supply distribution system for 97 villages at Tehsil Ladnun in the state.
Further, the company has bagged additional orders worth 192 crore for one of the operating projects under Power Transmission and Distribution Business.
