AA Energy has proposed an expansion for its biomass power plant in Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra.
The company intends to add 7.5 MW capacity to its existing 10 MW biomass plant.
The project, estimated to cost Rs 39.51 crore, will require 69,000 tonne of biomass fuel every year, 1,158.3 m3 per day of water and startup power of 700 kW, wherein the fuel used for startup will be LSD and coal, while the power plant will run on biomass fuel.
The proposed expansion project will produce low fly ash with minimum sulphur and nitrogen oxide emissions. The wastewater generated from the proposed project will be treated in the effluent treatment plant and reused for ash management, dust suppression and green belt development.
Moreover, an environment management plan has been delineated which includes control of fugitive emission, noise control, solid/hazardous waste minimization, proper maintenance of wastewater treatment plant and the disposal of waste after the implementation of the proposed expansion project.
