The Cabinet Committee of Andhra Pradesh has approved land for expansion of Vijayawada airport and for various other projects in the state.

The Cabinet is likely to acquire additional land of around 491 acre and to sanction Rs 110.91 crore investments to facilitate expansion of Vijayawada airport.

The Cabinet has allotted 498 acre of land to Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation for setting up of an industrial park in Krishna district, and 176 acre in Nellore district for another industrial park.

Meanwhile, the Cabinet has also approved allotment of 58 acre of land for setting up of National Ocean Technology unit, 25 acre site for Leather Industries Development Corporation in Krishna district, and for another park in Palamur in Mahbubangar district.

To provide a boost to the wind energy sector, the Cabinet allotted 32 acre of land to New and Renewable Energy Development Corporation for setting up of wind farms.
