Aerolloy Technologies, a subsidiary of PTC Industries, has completed the installation of a Plasma Arc Melting (PAM) furnace at its Strategic Manufacturing Technology Centre in Lucknow.
The furnace, with a capacity of 600 tonne per year, will be used for producing Titanium alloy ingots. This advanced melting technology utilizes a plasma torch to ensure precise control over melting conditions, ensuring high metallurgical cleanliness and accurate alloy chemistry. The PAM furnace will help Aerolloy recycle metallic scrap, improving material yield while reducing reliance on fresh raw materials. It also allows for the production of custom, smaller quantities of specialized Titanium alloys for sectors like aerospace, defence, and space.
This installation boosts operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness by enabling quick remelting and reuse of internally generated material, marking a significant advancement in the company’s manufacturing capabilities.
