Alstom T&D India has won an order of around Rs 246.2 crore from the Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company (MSETCL). The company will build 400/220 kV grid substations at Kudus, Alkud, and Kondhwa in Maharashtra.
The substations will improve the 220 kV transmission network as part of Maharashtra’s 12th Five Year plan to strengthen the transmission system and enhance the capacity of power evacuation systems.
At Kudus and Alkud, Alstom T&D India will build 400/220 kV air insulated substations including power transformers, substation automation system and other auxiliary equipment. For Kondhwa, the company will build a 220/22 kV gas insulated substation with other equipment.
Alstom T&D India will construct the substations on a turnkey basis and the equipment will be supplied from the company’s manufacturing units across the country.
Alstom is associated with MSETCL for several projects including the first of its kind EPC contract by any state utility in India, to build twenty six 220/132 kV substations across the state. It is also building the first 765 kV air insulated substation at Aurangabad, the first 400 kV gas insulated substation at Hinjewadi, and is executing a pilot project for MSETCL in Mumbai in remote operation and situational awareness.
