The government of Andhra Pradesh is planning to ink Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) soon with solar photovoltaic project developers under the state's solar power policy.
With this in mind, the state government has already issued the Letter of Intent (LoI). The government of Andhra Pradesh intends to set up at least 500 MW capacity by January 2015, under the state solar policy. It is also considering sorting out the evacuation issue which enables solar power plants to function normally, even in areas where there is no power supply.
The state government plans to generate an additional 200 MW power in the state by using naphtha, and 500 MW power by using LNG.
