Ardent Steel (ASL), has proposed an expansion plan in its existing power plant at Keonjhar district of Orissa.
The company is planning to set up a captive power plant along with its Ore Washery, DRI plant and Rolling mills. The 100 MW unit is part of its capex plan. And the expansion of the existing Iron Ore Pelletizing plant will be from 0.6 million tpa to 2.1 million tpa.
As part of its augmentation program, the company also plans to construct 3 million tpa Iron Ore Washery, 1.20 million tpa DRI plant, 1.20 million tpa SMS/Arc Furnace, 1.20 million tpa Rolling Mills.
As such, the company has proposed an additional 400 acre in the 47.50 acre existing plant area. As per the submitted pre-feasibility report, the expansion project is entitled to Rs 2,040 crore investment.
Ardent Steel has already submitted its proposal to the Ministry of Environment & Forests (MoEF), for obtaining environmental clearance.
