At a foundation stone-laying ceremony in Guwahati, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced the start of three major projects.
These cover Medanta Super Speciality Hospital, Cocoon Mother and Childcare Hospital by RJ Corp Healthcare, and a Lemon Tree Hotel. These initiatives are set to enhance Assam’s healthcare and hospitality infrastructure, creating substantial job opportunities for the state’s youth. CM Sarma highlighted that these projects are part of a broader investment drive, with multiple ventures—including palm storage projects worth Rs 300 billion, expected to boost the state's investment pipeline to Rs 1.78 trillion by December.
The Medanta Hospital will span 3.5 acres, Cocoon Hospital and Lemon Tree Hotel will cover 1.75 acres. These developments, located at Sarusajai, are poised to make Assam a hub for healthcare and hospitality not only in the state but also for neighbouring regions and Southeast Asia.
