The Public Works Department, Delhi, has received approval from local bodies of the city for Phase-III of Barapullah elevated road.
With the approval for Phase-III, the PWD can now extend from INA Market to Mayur Vihar Phase-I. The project is being developed in three phases.
Phase-I will include construction of the elevated road, between Sarai Kale Khan and Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. Phase-II of the project involves extension of the stretch upto INA Market, while Phase-III will extend the elevated road to Mayur Vihar.
Moreover, the PWD will also construct cycle tracks and footpath along the Phase-III stretch of the elevated corridor. The road will have four lanes and will have loops.
The department has appointed Pune-based research institute to conduct hydraulic study for the new Yamuna bridge. The plan will now be sent to Delhi Urban Art Commission and it will soon commence the process of preparing a detailed project report.
