The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has approved highway projects worth Rs 8,600 crore in Uttar Pradesh, Odisha and Chhattisgarh.
The government has given its nod for six laning of the Chakeri-Allahabad section of National Highway in Uttar Pradesh. The 145 km long road is estimated to cost Rs 1,999.85 crore.
The six laning of 72.4 km of the Handia-Varanasi section of National Highway in Uttar Pradesh was also approved by CCEA. The project cost is estimated to be Rs 2,378.59 crore.
Another project in the list of approvals by CCEA was six laning of Baleshwar-Chandikhole section of National Highway in Odisha. The project is estimated to cost Rs 2,296.82 crore and the total length of the road will be 137 km.
The development of four to six laning of the Raipur-Bilaspur section of National Highway in Chhattisgarh has also got CCEA’s nod. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 1,963.88 crore and the total length of the road will be approximately 127 km.
All four projects will be developed under the National Highways Development Project (NHDP) Phase-V.
