The Karnataka government has sanctioned 18 development projects for the state, at a total cost of Rs 13,770 crore.
The projects which have received approval belong to sectors like Iron and Steel, Automobile, Engineering and Infrastructure, Aerospace, Agro, Chemicals, Food, Information and Technology, Petrochemicals, Pharma and Textiles.
The state will set up three projects in the Iron and Steel sector, two projects each in Automobile, Engineering and Infrastructure, and one each in Aerospace, Agro, Chemicals, Food, Information and Technology, Petrochemicals, Pharma and Textiles.
Out of 18 projects, four projects will come up in Kolar district, three in Bangalore Rural, two each in Bellary and Tumkur districts, and one each in Bangalore Urban, Chikkaballapur, Davanagere, Dharwad, Hassan, Koppal and Mandya districts.
To set up the project, Tumkur district will get an investment of Rs 5,124 crore, Chikkaballapur will get an outlay of Rs 1,917 crore; Kolar will get Rs 1,564 crore; Dharwad Rs 1,450 crore; Bangalore Rural Rs 1,273 crore; Bellary Rs 743 crore; Koppal Rs 650 crore; and Bangalore Urban will get an investment of Rs 414 crore.
The total land required for setting up these projects will be around 2,700 acre.
