The first museum dedicated to the maratha warrior, Chhatrapati Shivaji, will come up near Sahar elevated road, which stretches from Western Express Highway (WEH) to the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA) in Mumbai.
The first museum on Chhatrapati Shivaji is likely to be revealed shortly, but no deadline has been given for the opening of this museum.
The museum will be spread over 5,000 sq mtr land and will display all items that chronicle the times and life of Shivaji.
Also, a statue of Shivaji Maharaj of about nine mtr height will be erected atop the main hall of the museum.
The statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji, which will be sourced from Aurangabad, will be different from the ones which portray Shivaji astride a horse. The museum will be constructed about eight mtr high and will be partially underground.
The museum will be developed by Mumbai International Airport (MIAL) and will be located towards the beginning of the Sahar elevated road next Western Express Highway (WEH) near Vile Parle.
